Molly Bruni | Freelance Editor

I’m Molly, a freelance editor who currently specializes in research about children’s magazines and other avenues of learning through play. I especially enjoy editing publications and have a strong portfolio in publication management, such as magazines and reports.

Background

My background is primarily in higher education. I was previously the managing editor for a university in San Antonio, where I was also editor-in-chief of its publications. I oversaw the content team and kept a close eye on every word the office produced, safeguarding the $1.6 billion university brand.

Because of my time in the university’s marketing office, I am well-versed in seeing the bigger picture of how editorial and content fit into marketing your project. Lately, I have specialized in multimedia storytelling and finding ways to take typically print-first storytelling and extend its life through a variety of digital formats.

Education

I am a strong believer in lifelong learning. I just completed a master’s degree in publishing at Pace University in New York City, and I earned my undergraduate degree at Rice University in Houston.

Putting Down the Red Pen

Outside of work, you can find me coordinating class parties as room mom for my son’s preschool, cozying up with my toddler to watch Bluey, incessantly texting TikToks to my husband, or singing backup to Barry Manilow in my community choir (OK, that only happened once—but it was a blast!).
