Developmental editing involves working with the authors hand in hand to shape the content and ensure it tells the right story. At this stage, I’m not geeking out over grammar or studying spelling—I’m looking at the big picture of the story or publication as a whole.

Line editing looks at grammar and spelling but also considers flow, style, word choice, readability, and more. This editorial service is the “middle ground” between developmental editing and proofreading.

As the final stage of editing, proofreading usually occurs after your content has been designed. It’s the “last look” at the content to ensure there are no typos, grammar errors, formatting issues, and other glaring mistakes.
